Today's Druskininkai is an international whole year-long balneological, dirt, mineral water and climate therapy resort, which marks 222 years of anniversaries this year.
Druskininkai is located in the south of the country, 130 km away from Vilnius and Kaunas. This is the most distant point of Lithuania at the south. From the south – a border with Belarus, from the west – with Poland. Buses are leaving from Vilnius and Kaunas to Druskininkai every day.
Area: 454 km ² (8.4% of the county area).
Population: 222311 residents lived in the municipality of Druskininkai on 31 December 2017.
Annual number of tourists: 249,016 thousand tourists visited the resort during the first nine months of 2017. Of them, more than half (64 percent) – from Lithuania. Most of the tourists to Druskininkai come from Russia, Belarus, Poland, a number of tourists from Estonia, Israel.

Druskininkai is famous of its mineral waters from an old age. In the year, 32.8 million litres of mineral water are bottled here. Jewellery, plastic bottles, filters for cars, safety belts for children's turtles, baked bread and cake products are also made in Druskininkai.
